Experimental and numerical analysis on a floor-type air distribution device

For the tall and large space, due to the characteristics of air conditioning load and indoor environment requirements, the most energy efficient way to create indoor environment is to provide the thermal comfort environment only in personnel activity area and ignore the environmental control of non-personnel activity area. Based on this purpose, the floor-type air distribution device is developed. Experimental test and simulation analysis of the device are carried out. The result shows that the air supply of the device is uniform. For the side air supply, a stable and uniform ground “air lake” with appropriate temperature can be formed. For the top air supply, it can form a vertical “air curtain” attached to the curtain wall, which creates a good vertical temperature stratification. The device has the advantages of good looking, convenient installation and maintenance, which make it suitable for indoor environment control of large space.
